George Bush destroyed capitalism in order to save it, then Obama quadrupled down...
At least it was a bipartisan screwing. Think I'm full of it? Check Barney Frank and Chris Dodd's pockets. They are full of Wall Street money.
There used to be firewalls in place to keep politicians and bankers from colluding to rape the taxpayers.
SF, you're right about the bipartisan nature of what is going on.
Money and the influence it buys seems to be a root cause of it. Maybe there was a period of time when personal morals of our politicians allowed them to take both the money and stick with the average commoner in their district. Now, it is all money all the time.
I believe the lack of real competition among politicians (something like 90%+ incumbency rate) seriously elevates the power of this money and "special interest" influence inside the Beltway. Too bad these guys have to vote against their self interest in order to lawfully change the system.
