"Hey, don't throw those stinky things at my friend!"

Those are the words uttered by an Iraqi patriot as he hurled his size 10's at President George W. Bush during another unannounced visit to Iraq.
Describing how he felt after coming under direct attack for the first time in his life, W. noted that "It doesn't bother me."
Iraqis, last seen tossing shoes at another famous politician, were largely unfazed. The shoe tosser, however, is now in the hands of Iraq's "freedom-extractors."
Bush. As popular overseas as he is at home!

I like Josh Marshall's snarky "deep thought" about that event: "Throwing a shoe at someone doesn't signal respect in the Arab world the way it does in ours."
Only the Bush Administration can make one of the biggest insults in the Arab world a sign of "freedom" and "progress". Me thinks they'd have a different take if, say, David Gregory hurled a size 15 at Dana Perino.
Well, you can bet Gregory would get the GTMO treatment... and get dis-invited from rapping with his buddy Karl!
